Dhaka Bureau: Voting has started in 81 Union Parishads (UP) and five municipalities of the country. Voting started on Thursday (December 29) at 8:30 am with electronic voting machines. Polling will continue uninterrupted till 4:30 PM.
Election Commission (EC) Assistant Secretary of Election Management Wing Ashfaqur Rahman said that out of 81 UP, 47 general elections and 34 by-elections are going on for various posts. Continuous polling will be held from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The five municipalities are Bagha in Rajshahi, Birol in Dinajpur, Boda in Panchagarh, Alfadanga in Faridpur and Banpara in Natore.
