Rajshahi Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan praised Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force. He said, “The country has become a role model for development today because all other law and order forces including Ansar are cooperating with the Prime Minister.”
He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of Ansar and VDP Model Building in Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday (December 21).
The minister said, ‘Durga Puja was done a few days ago. There were about 33,000 worship halls across the country. The IGP said, he cannot provide more than one policeman in each mandap. Ansar is engaged in the security of this shrine. About two lakh members of Ansar performed their duties with responsibility in places of worship across the country. As a result, no untoward incident happened anywhere.
He also said, ‘Railway lines were being uprooted in the name of anti-government movement around 2013-14. Ansar members were still responsible for the security of the railway line. Even if it does not look like that in our view, the members of Ansar forces are performing very important responsibilities for the security of the country.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and local Member of Parliament Shahriar Alam, Member of Parliament for reserved women’s seat Adiba Anjum Mita, Director of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan among others were present on the occasion.
