Bhairav Correspondent: Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks in Narsingdi’s Raipura. The accident happened on Saturday morning in Mahmudabad Namapara area of Mirzapur Union of Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
The deceased are Abu Hashem (21) son of Abdul Halim of Palikanda village of Shibchar police station of Bogra district and son of Muslim Uddin Patwari of North Charmandal village of Charfashion police station of Bhola district. Mofizul Patwari (28). Both of them were truck drivers.
According to highway police, Mofizul’s stone-laden truck was heading towards Dhaka. And Abu Hashem’s truck carrying tiles was going towards Bhairab. In the morning when two trucks reached Mahmudabad Namapara on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, a clash took place. The front part of the two trucks was completely twisted.
And truck driver Mofizul and Hashem died on the spot. Later, highway police and fire service reached the spot and recovered the body.
Mozammel Haque, OC of Bhairav Highway Police, said that two bodies were recovered and taken to the police station. Initially, it is believed that this accident happened due to sleep of the drivers in the morning. Legal action is under process in this incident.
