Lohagara Correspondent: Four passengers were injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Lohagara area on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. The incident took place on the south side of Rajghata Tongavarti river in Amirabad Union area of Lohagara upazila at 8 am on Friday, December 9. The collision took place between a passenger bus (Dhakametro-B-11-1486) of Cox’s Bazar and a CNG-driven autorickshaw. The injured are said to be passengers of a CNG-powered autorickshaw. After the accident, local people rescued the injured and took them to the emergency department of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
The victims are Ershad Hossain (38), son of Nezam Uddin of Narishcha village of Upazila Chunti Union, and Hriday (22), son of Md Ayyub of Masterhat area of Amirabad Union. The other two are Shahjahan (32), son of Monir Ahmed of Putibila Union of the upazila and Md Mamun (32), senior staff nurse of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex.
SI Md. Mustafa said that 2 vehicles involved in the accident have been taken into custody by the Highway Police.
