Dhaka Bureau: The Election Commission (EC) has censured 14 parties for not responding to the letter in addition to not providing information on fulfilling the registration conditions within the stipulated time as per the Election Rules (RPO). In this case, the parties have been asked to give proper reasons for not providing information within the next 15 days. Officials of the Election Management Branch of the EC said that a letter of reprimand was sent to the parties on Wednesday afternoon.
The parties are – Krishak Sramik Janata League, Communist Party of Bangladesh, Alternative Dhara Bangladesh, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Bangladesh Muslim League, Bangladesh Samyavadi Dal (ML), Jamiat Ulamae Islam Bangladesh, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASD), Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BASD), Ganofront. , Bangladesh National Awami Party, Bangladesh Revolutionary Workers Party, Bangladesh Welfare Party and Demokrati Party. Among them, Bangladesh Kalyan Party and Demokrati Party have given information even after the passage of time. Besides, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Congress, Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) and National People’s Party (NPP) have been given one more time if they applied for time.
The Election Commissioner said. Alamgir said yesterday that information was sought from all registered parties. Out of 39 teams, 21 teams provided information on time. 4 teams have applied for time. They have been given one month. Another 14 teams did not respond. However, two of these teams gave information at the end of time. They too have been mourned.
When asked about the reason for the shock, he said, 14 parties – who could not pay, may have a logical reason. (Party leader) may be abroad, may not be able to make the time.
In response to the question of those who did not respond, whether their registration is under threat. Alamgir said, in the face of threats – this is not the case. Election Commission has laws, whether they are complying with the conditions of registration, remains to be seen. They are not done for cancellation of registration. However, if someone neglects or fails to comply with the conditions, then the EC cannot continue them. Such a decision has to be made.
The former EC secretary said that 14 parties were not given time. Reason shown. If the explanation is satisfactory, then no further punishment can be given. For this, before taking any decision, you need to know the explanation. If the explanation is satisfactory, then OK. And if not, one year will be deemed to be in default. Default for 3 consecutive years will result in cancellation of registration.
He said that those who have given information on time, their information will also be verified on the basis of random selection. If the old registered team does not fulfill the conditions properly, we will see it on the field. If the cancellation conditions are not met, the registration will be cancelled.
