Sukanth Bikash Dhar, Satkania: A six-year-old girl child (pseudonym-Sani Akhter) of Chittagong’s Forkania Madrasa was allegedly raped by luring her with money and chocolates on her way home after the annual examination. The incident took place in the Bharakhal area on the banks of the Sangundi river in Ward No. 8 of the Khagaria Union of the upazila on Tuesday (November 6) in the afternoon. Since the incident, the son of deceased Sona Mia of Gani para Bakkar house of Khagria Union has been accused. Yuchup and his family tried unsuccessfully to cover up the incident. When the incident became known in the area, the Thana Police rescued the raped child from her house in a bloody state and first took her to Dohazari Hospital on Wednesday morning. Later doctors sent Chamek Hospital for better treatment. The rapist is absconding since the incident. On Wednesday morning, the angry residents took out a procession in the area demanding the arrest of the rapist and exemplary punishment.
The mother of the raped child told reporters, “My daughter Khagria is a student of Faujdar Ghona Noorani Madrasa’s child class.” On the day of the incident, around 2 pm, my daughter was coming towards the house crying with a 10 rupee note in her hand. Seeing the money in her hand, I beat the girl with a cane. Later, when I asked her why she was crying, she told me the whole story. This year my daughter was giving her annual exam. My daughter developed fever on the night of the incident due to profuse bleeding. I will complain to the police station and demand that the rapist be arrested and hanged.

In the morning, after informing the chairman, I went to the child’s house along with the police and local people and took him to Dohazari Hospital. He also said that the rapist and his relatives are known to be influential in the area. They wanted to keep the child’s family under pressure day and night with money and threats. But when the baby started bleeding profusely, the cries of the baby’s mother became known in the area.
In this regard, Khagria Union Ward No. 8 Awami League President Abu Bakkar said that there are precedents of such incidents of rapist Yuchup in the area. Being influential, the people of the area did not dare to open their mouths. We are demanding exemplary punishment of Kulanga’s rapist along with hanging. Today on Wednesday, the people of the area marched to demand the execution of the rapist.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station Tarek Muhammad Abdul Hannan said, the rape victim has been sent to Chamek Hospital for better treatment. If the child’s parents file a case, it will be dismissed. 2 teams of police are working to arrest the rapist.
