Dhaka Bureau: BNP did not seek permission for the rally in Suhrawardy Udyan, party’s central executive committee publicity secretary and media cell member secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, we have given a clear; Suhrawardy Udyan is unsafe. We will not hold any rally there. That is our stand.
He said this in response to questions from reporters about the venue of the Dhaka divisional assembly in Nayapaltan on Tuesday (November 6) at noon.
Annie said, we talked about responsibility; There have been many programs in front of the BNP office in the past. There was a general meeting. We want to have a peaceful rally in front of the office.
The DMP Commissioner said, “We will not hold a rally on the street” – when asked by reporters, he said, “At the request of the DMP, we later said that the place in front of the Arambagh Ideal School, next to the BNP party office, also has a field nearby. Our assembly day is a closing day. There we can program, alternatively. We sought that cooperation from them. We strongly hope they will cooperate with us there.
If DMP gives place in Arambagh. What to do then? In response, this leader of BNP said, “We are the people of Rajpath.” Where to do without roads? We chose the highway. InshAllah, we will be forced to let them program on the streets. If they don’t, then the responsibility is on them. They have to take responsibility. We have to stay in Nayapaltan area.
He said, ‘We have already expressed our words many times in written form in DMP. I have sought permission to hold a rally in Nayapaltan outside Suhrawardy Udyan. Still in touch with my DMP. We have repeatedly said that Suhrawardy Udyan is unsafe.
It has been said from DMP that it will be given in the open field. Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie asked where is that field and said, let’s have a look. We don’t see any open field. Because Suhrawardy Udyan is no longer a garden, it has become a park. And there are many kinds of conspiracies hidden there. We know it. That’s why we think it’s unsafe.
