The Crime Desk: To ensure the journey of people heading home on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, train seat tickets for the seventh day (June 6) are being sold today. For the convenience of passengers, 100% of the seat tickets will be sold online.
Ticket sales for the western trains of Bangladesh Railway started at 8 am on Tuesday (May 27). After that, the sale of seat tickets for the eastern trains will start at 2 pm.
This time, the total number of seats for intercity trains going from Dhaka to various destinations in the country will be 33,315. This information is known from the work plan taken by the railway for the occasion of Eid.
According to the work plan, before Eid, the seats for the intercity train for May 31 were sold on May 21; seats for June 1 were sold on May 22; seats for June 2 were sold on May 23; seats for June 3 were sold on May 24; seats for June 4 were sold on May 25; and seats for June 5 were sold on May 26.
As per the decision of the railways, the tickets for the 7-day train journey before Eid are being sold in advance under a special arrangement. The tickets purchased during this period cannot be returned to the railways. Each ticket aspirant can collect four seat tickets at once.
