City Reporter: Five people have been arrested in a special operation by the Kotwali Police Station while preparing for a robbery. During this time, 4 country-made knives used in the robbery were recovered from them.
Last Sunday at 1:30 am, based on secret information, the police came to know that a group of robbers was preparing for a robbery with country-made weapons in an empty place next to the rural field adjacent to the old station. A police team led by Kotwali Police Station SI Md. Kamruzzaman immediately conducted a raid there and arrested five members of the robbery gang red-handed.
The arrested are Md. Sohel alias Kausar (25), Md. Jalal Hossain alias Bacha Mia (35), Md. Tanvir alias Tofazzal (22), Shakib (20), and Md. Nur Nabi (20).
Police said that the arrested are identified as robbers and members of the robbery gang. They attacked pedestrians in different areas of the city and looted money, mobile phones, and valuables. There are multiple cases against them in different police stations. During the operation, 4-5 more people escaped, and the operation to arrest them is ongoing.
