The Crime Desk: Malawi Defence Force Commander General Paul Valentino Phiri paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman.
He called on the Army Chief at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday (February 3), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the meeting, apart from exchanging greetings, they discussed various issues of cooperation in the existing good relations between the two countries and future progress. The Army Chief thanked the Malawi Defence Force Commander for meeting him.
Before meeting the Army Chief, the Malawi Defence Force Commander laid a wreath at Shikha Anirban. Later, a smart contingent of the armed forces provided him with a guard of honour at the Army Headquarters and he planted a sapling there.
It is worth noting that on February 2, 2025, the Malawi Defense Force Commander arrived in Bangladesh on a 5-day official visit. During his visit, he will visit several installations of the Bangladesh Army, including the National Defense College, Defense Services Command and Staff College, Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operations Training (BIPSOT), Cox’s Bazar Area, and FDMN Camp.
This visit is expected to play an important role in the development of mutual relations between Bangladesh and Malawi.
