Dhaka Bureau: Minister of Textiles and Jute Golam Dastgir Ghazi, Veerpratik, MP expects that the global prayer meeting organized by Haqqani Anjuman will be dedicated to the wish of universal peace and welfare and prosperous future of beloved motherland Bangladesh irrespective of caste, religion, color.
He said this while attending the 26th World Prayer Meeting organized by Haqqani Anjuman at IEB Auditorium in the capital today (Thursday) afternoon.
The minister said, under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, we achieved a non-communal independent Bangladesh in 1971 with the united participation of people of all religions. Bangabandhu’s dream was that the Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians of this country would be a developed, peaceful and prosperous non-communal country.
He said, people with real religious values, regardless of the religion they follow, are universal, liberal and non-sectarian. Respect for mutual values and empathy is very important for the establishment of world peace. Wishing the success of the World Prayer Meeting for all irrespective of caste and religion with the aim of establishing humanity, world brotherhood and communal harmony and peace by Haqqani Anjuman.
Wishing the overall success of the 26th World Prayer Meeting organized by Haqqani Anjuman, the minister said that we all made Bangladesh free by fighting the liberation war. This country belongs to all of us. Bangladesh is a safe abode for all people irrespective of caste and religion. Everyone is practicing their religion freely. Government is developing everyone irrespective of caste-religion-caste-group. People of all religions are equally enjoying the benefits of development. Our tradition-bound non-communal Bangladesh will never surrender to communal evil.
