The Crime Desk: Abida Sultana has been elected president of the Chittagong Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. As the term of the board of directors of the Chittagong Women’s Chamber has expired, the election of a new board of directors was held at the chamber’s office on November 30. In the election, Abida Sultana was elected president for the next 2 years.
Dr. Munal Mahbub and Lutmila Farid were elected senior vice presidents, respectively, and Nishat Imran, Seema Khatun, Sultana Nurjahan Rozi, and Shamim Morshed were elected vice presidents, respectively. The other directors of the board of directors are Gulshana Ali, Sabera Sarwar Nina, and Roxana Akhter Chowdhury. Ruhi Mostafa, Rekha Alam, Jasmine Akhter, Ayesha Farha Chowdhury, Kazi Tuhina Akhter, Savina Ikram Siraji, Noor Akhter Jahan, Nasrin Sultana Chowdhury, Nuzhat Nueri Kristi, Baby Hassan, Syeda Kamrun Nahar, Aklima Akhter, Amena Shaheen, Mehruba Mahbub, Sarist Binte Noor, Chowdhury Zubair Saki, Rahanuma Mariam, and Subarna Dey, respectively.
It is worth noting that the election schedule of the CWCCI was announced by the Election Commission on October 22. On October 17, a 3-member Election Management Board was formed to conduct the CWCCI elections, headed by Nasim Farhana Shirin, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Department of Environment, Chittagong, with Nazim Hasan Sattar, General Manager of SME Foundation, and Mohammad Atiq Zafar, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank Chittagong, as Assistant Election Commissioners. A 3-member Election Appeal Board was formed, headed by Advocate Dil Afroz, assisted by Advocate Md. Saddam Hossain and Advocate Shirin Sultana Chowdhury.
