Roadblocks wearing kapan cloths to demand lifting of restrictions on travel to St. Martin

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: St. Martin’s residents and tourism-related organizations have blocked the road to demand the withdrawal of restrictions on St. Martin’s travel by covering their clothes. Where around 12 organizations of tourism, including various organizations of Saint Martin, participated.

Hundreds of residents of Saint Martin and tourism-related people of Cox’s Bazar began to gather at Kalatali Dolphin Junction on Tuesday (November 19) morning. They marched to Kalatali Dolphin intersection and blocked the road.

Azizul Haque, a resident of St. Martin, said that the decision taken by the environmental advisor on St. Martin is a dictatorial decision. This decision should be canceled and tourist travel arrangements should be made as before. Besides, the ship should be launched from Teknaf. Our Saint Martin’s people will die otherwise.

Cox’s Bazar Tour Operator Owners Association (TUAC) president Rezaul Karim said we have no conflict with the environment. We want tourism to be kept alive by preserving the environment. Apart from the season, the pressure of tourists will be reduced if the transportation of tourists is arranged by providing high-quality boats throughout the year.

Due to the movement, the surrounding roads are closed for traffic. Tourists have suffered due to traffic stoppages. The entire road of the tourist city, including the Marine Drive road, has caused long traffic jams.
