The Crime Desk: The names of four people who are new to the advisory council of the interim government have been revealed. They are Professor Md. Syedur Rahman, businessman Sekh Bashir Uddin, film director Mustafa Sarayer Faruqi, and special assistant to the chief adviser Mahfuz Alam.
The new advisers are scheduled to be sworn in at Bangabhaban on Sunday (November 10) evening. The four have been confirmed to be invited to be sworn in as new advisers.
Professor Md. Sayedur Rahman was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on August 27. Now, from there, he is being taken to the advisory council. Dr. Syedur Rahman is a professor in the department of pharmacology at BSMMU.
Sheikh Bashir Uddin is the Managing Director of the country’s leading industrial conglomerate, Akiz-Bashir Group. He is the son of Sheikh Akiz Uddin.
Mostafa Sarayer Farooqi is a famous filmmaker. Over the decades, he has become a well-known face by producing films and plays.
Apart from this, former Inspector General of Police Khoda Bux Chowdhury is joining the interim government as Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, a source said.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in the students’ coup, on August 8, Dr. An interim government was formed with Muhammad Yunus as the chief adviser. The number of members of this government is now 21, including the Chief Advisor. However, there were suggestions from various quarters to appoint more members to the advisory council to bring dynamics to the government’s activities.
