Entertainment desk: TV drama actress Afroza Hossain passed away. He breathed his last on Sunday (November 10) at 6 am in the capital’s Kalyanpur residence (‘Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). Actress Monira Akhter Mithu confirmed her death.
Sharing some pictures taken with Afroza Hossain on social media, actress Monira Mithu wrote, ‘Actress Afroza Hossain is no more. Who will dare me? How can I comfort your child, Naeem? I am Tangail, such a wretch I could not bid you a final farewell. You go, I’ll come, go you.
It is known that actress Afroza Hossain was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year. Later, the cancer spread to his spine. Initially, he was receiving treatment in the country. But when her condition deteriorated, Afroza was taken to Mumbai, India, for better treatment. Afroza Hossain was struggling to meet the expensive medical expenses. Later, he was receiving treatment in a hospital in the country.
Note that Afroza Hossain started acting for the first time in 2008. His journey began with a UNESCO awareness play. His acting skills and character mastery brought him popularity. He gained popularity by acting in several dramas, including ‘Thetaru’, ‘Surya Aster Aye’, and ‘Videshi Boy’. However, Afroza has mostly acted in documentaries for UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, and BBC.
As per the latest news, his funeral was held at Kalyanpur Housing Society. However, it is not known where the funeral will take place until the writing of this report.
