Nagar Reporter: After the recent press conference of Amar Desh Patrika editor Mahmudur Rahman and a group called Inkilab Manch, Pinaki Bhattacharya Face the People and some other radical pages/groups and so-called high-levels focused on the 8-point demand movement of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch. Anti-ISKCON and anti-ISKCON slogans, posts and statements started spreading all over the country on Facebook pasge due to anti-ISKCON provocative statements of some Hindu anti-Hindu leaders.
Due to this, the owner of Hazari Gali Molla Store, Osman Molla made very bad comments about ISKCON and Hindus. This angered the local Hindus. They went to Osman Mia’s shop and started arguing. At one point tension and fighting started. After receiving the news, the local administration quickly reached the spot. Osman Mia admitted his guilt. Then the administration wants to release him on bail. At that time, Hindus protested and said, Khulna Utsav Mandal, Patiya Partha Biswas and Faridpur Hriday Pal have not spared any Hindus, so why should Osman be spared?
This led to tension and a scuffle with the police. At one point, during a scuffle in the nearby goldsmiths’ shop, a bottle of acid from the work of the artisans spilled down and hurt many. With the help of Banik Samiti, everything calmed down around 8 pm. The administration and the local Hindu-Muslims solved the problem and made the environment peaceful and beautiful. But Face the People and other extremist pages continue to spread false information and incite.
Then suddenly around 10:20 pm several army vehicles came and filled Hazari Goli and Cinema Palace area. Mass arrests and inhuman torture of Hindus started soon after that. Video of breaking CCTV camera to destroy evidence of torture went viral on social media. After many Hindus were injured and arrested, Section 144 was issued and calmed down somewhat. After a two-hour break, the army resumed shelling after 3 pm. Army troops raided various gold jewelery factories and houses, beat them up and looted the artisans’ working gold. 5 people lost their lives in Latticharge by the army and many were injured. At night, approximately 200 people were picked up by the army.
They took them to the camp and tortured them inhumanely. Although a few people were beaten up on the streets, the army did not give them any opportunity to take them to the hospital for immediate treatment and did not allow anyone to pick them up. So far, 80 people have been arrested, but 120 people are still missing. This is the situation of the attack on the Hindus of Bangladesh yesterday was very terrible.
Currently the situation in the area is stagnant. On the other hand, under the banner of anti-discrimination movement with the help of police and army, the workers of Jamaat-Shibir formed a human chain in Jamal Khansth Press Club area at 3 pm (November 06) demanding the ban of ISKCON. In this regard, several Hindu leaders expressed the fear of repeated attacks in different Hindu-dominated areas including Hazari Lane of Chittagong, saying that the incident of Hazari Lane was a planned massacre by the law enforcement forces and communal extremist groups.
This extrajudicial torture killing is part of the Yajna to thwart the program announced in the heated 8-point demand of the Sanatan Jagran Manch to protest the ongoing communal violence in Bangladesh.
