The Crime Desk: A demand has been made to confirm the presence of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, the World Amir of Tabligh Jamaat, in the upcoming World Ijtema at Turag Tir, Tongir.
This demand was made in a press conference organized by ‘Dawaat and Tabligh Ulamay Keram and General Companions’ at the National Press Club on Wednesday (November 6).
In a written statement, Khatib Azim Uddin of Kakrail Mosque said that Dawate Tabligh is a non-political, neutral, and peaceful organization worldwide. Millions of people have come to the path of Islam and received guidance through this invitation program. The annual conference or Vishwa Ijtema of this world-wide Dawati organization has been held on the Turag shores of Tongi for about 57 years.
He said that a certain faction is trying to destabilize the country around the upcoming World Ijtema. A splinter group of the so-called ‘Zubair Panthi’ Tabligh is destroying religious harmony by misleading some of the ulama of the country and using the young students of madrasas.
He said that numerous false and misleading information has been presented from the program organized by them at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 5, which has created confusion in the public mind. But we have called for the unity of the scholars of the country on November 3 through media and social media. However, at the instigation of the followers of Zubair, some short-sighted scholars have been spreading misleading information on the issue of Tabligh and Biswa Ijtema without coming to a compromise solution and have indulged in mischievous attempts to destabilize the situation.
In the press conference, he further said, In this situation, we are presenting a solution proposal to clarify the issue before the nation. I am offering an open challenge based on 7 conditions to the falsehood and confusion spread about Tabligh Jamaat by world Amir Saad Kandhalvi and Nizamuddin Markaz.
1. Maulana Arshad Madani of Darul Uloom Deoband and Shaikhul Islam Mufti Taqi Usmani of Pakistan will be present as judges.
2. Government advisers and law enforcement officials will be present.
3. Media personnel will be present, and it will be recorded and broadcast live.
4. Discussions on specifics should be limited.
5. Certain representatives of both parties will be present.
6. The debate will be held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.
7. The decision of the jury will be final.
He said, We want to solve all the problems in a domestic meeting. But due to the good relationship with the Home Minister of the previous government, the supporters of Zubair took the opportunity to hold Ijtema in the first phase for 7 consecutive years by meeting in the presence of both sides with extra enthusiasm. But they are spreading tension on the streets by ignoring the meeting of the Home Ministry held on November 4 in opposition to the current government.
The demands they presented at this time. They are-
1. The presence of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, the World Amir of Tablighi Jamaat, should be confirmed in the Biswa Ijtema.
2. By removing the discrimination of the last 7 years, the first phase of Biswa Ijtima is to explain to mainstream Tablighi companions following Nizamuddin Markaz.
3. To remove the discrimination of Kakrail Mosque and Biswa Ijtima Maidan and convey it to mainstream companions of Tabligh.
4. On December 1, 2018, 2 members of the mainstream were killed in Tongi Ijtima Maidan and later in Kishoreganj, Brahmanbaria, and New Market of Dhaka; 3 members were killed and more than 400 members were seriously injured.
5. Prohibition of statements that cause religious incitement and brotherly conflict in all mosques of Bangladesh.
