The Crime Desk: The Islamic Grand Conference is going on in Suhrawardy Udyan of the capital. Around this conference, millions of devout Muslims have arrived in Suhrawardy Udyan and surrounding areas.
Devoted Muslims and scholars-ulama can be seen coming to the conference venue from early morning to attend this conference, which started at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (November 5).
Meanwhile, heavy traffic jams have occurred around the conference. They entered the capital by bus from outside Dhaka to participate in the conference. Those buses are kept on the road. It has created a severe traffic jam in the capital. As the day progresses, the traffic jam is increasing.
School-college students and office-goers are the most affected.
Although the Islamic Conference was supposed to be held at Suhrawardy Udyan, the conference went beyond Ramna Park, Dhaka University Campus, and the National Press Club, Shahbagh. As a result, vehicles are not able to ply on the road from Shahbagh to Matsya Bhavan, Kakrail, Press Club, Shiksha Bhavan area.
Because of this, severe traffic jams have occurred in ScienceLab, Mirpur Road, Chankharpul, Paltan, Naya Paltan, Moghbazar, Tejgaon, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Panthapath, and Vijay Sarani areas. Tired of the traffic jam, many passengers were seen getting off the bus and walking to their destination.
Gablati bus driver said, “It took 1 hour for Banglamotor to come from Asad Avenue. But it takes 20 minutes to reach this road.
After a few days, various rallies and road blockades took place. Passengers, including us, suffer because of this. So the government should look into the issues.
Meanwhile, vehicles have been kept on all roads of Dhaka University. As a result, the students of the university have to suffer a lot.
Two private workers in Karwan Bazar and Moghbazar areas said, “They went out at normal times like every day. But the traffic jam has suffered severely. I didn’t know about the conference before. If he had known, he would have taken time to come out. Now they have to walk to the office.
