The Crime Desk: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Muhammad Mainuddin Abdullah and Commissioner Achia Khatun and Commissioner Zahurul Haque have resigned. On Tuesday (October 29) afternoon, they submitted their resignation letter to the ACC Secretary and left the office.
Moinuddin Abdullah confirmed this information to journalists working in the ACC beat. Moinuddin Abdullah said that he and two commissioners have submitted their resignations.
Incidentally, Moinuddin Abdullah was the sixth chairman of ACC. On March 3, 2021, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam signed the appointment gazette of Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah by order of the President. Earlier, he was the senior secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Among the remaining two commissioners, Zahurul Haque was a former judge. Besides, Achia Khatun was the former secretary. The complaint against this commission was that they managed the ACC as a subordinate of the Awami League government. Where the interest of the government is given more priority than the interest of the state.
