The Crime Desk: The government has increased the age limit for entering government jobs by two years. Candidates can apply for government jobs from now until the age of 32 years. However, this decision has been rejected by the ‘Students’ Coordinating Council, whose age limit for job applications is 35′.
On Thursday (October 24) at 3:30 p.m., the convener of the organization. Shariful Hasan informed the media of this matter.
Shariful Hasan said we have been campaigning for a long time to make the age limit for government jobs permanent at 35. It has been there for 32 years. This will not be accepted by ordinary students. Moreover, there is a condition that you can participate in the BCS exam only three times. Which is not acceptable at all. Because if a student passes his graduation at the age of 24 or 25, he can take the BCAS exam 5-6 times up to 30 years later. But due to the current conditions, it can no longer do so. Hence, we have rejected this notification.
Shubo also said that the next decision will be decided soon through a discussion with everyone. Which will be informed to everyone by holding a press conference. We want a permanent age limit of 35.
Earlier, the advisory council meeting on Thursday (October 24) gave final approval to the age limit for entry into government service at 32 years. Later, in a notification from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser, in principle and final approval of the draft ‘Maximum Age Limit for Direct Recruitment to Self-Governing Organizations, including Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Authorities, Public Non-Financial Corporations Ordinance, 2024’. It is reported.
The matters mentioned in the notification are:
# The maximum age limit for entry into the service of all cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service will be fixed at 32 years.
# The maximum age limit for entering all government jobs outside the scope of Bangladesh Civil Service will be 32 years.
# In the case of autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, self-recruitment rules will be applicable subject to necessary adaptations.
# Respective recruitment rules will remain in force in the case of Defense Services and Law and Order Forces.
Besides, in the light of this Ordinance, under the powers given in Section 59 of the ‘Government Employment Act, 2018’, the Ministry of Public Administration restructured the ‘Bangladesh Civil Service (Examination for Age, Qualification, and Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014’, a candidate in the Bangladesh Civil Service Examination a maximum of three times.
