Khagrachari Correspondent: BGB arrested an Indian citizen named Roni Das (32) from the Matiranga border of Khagrachari. Acting Captain of 40 BGB Khedachhra Battalion Major Afiq Hasan confirmed this in a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
He said that a Bangladeshi accomplice was arrested at that time. Major Afiq Hasan also said that Roni Das was arrested while returning to India from Bangladesh in the Shafitila BOP area of the Khadachra Battalion in Matiranga yesterday afternoon.
The arrested Roni Das is the son of Lalit Das of Beluni in South Tripura. At that time, Indian Income Tax Department Permanent Account Number Card and Aadhaar card photos were obtained from him.
Also, 02 mobile phones and Bangladeshi cash of Tk 4,600 were found from the arrested Indian citizen. Meanwhile, the resident of Belchari in Matiranga is an associate of Roni Das, an Indian citizen. Saiful Islam was arrested.
Besides Saiful’s motorcycle, his mobile phone and cash worth Tk 7 thousand were seized. According to BGB sources, the arrested have been handed over to Matiranga police station.
