The Crime Desk: Miscreants have put ‘hijab’ on the head of the female portrait in the anti-terrorist Raju sculpture of Dhaka University (DU) TSC. However, it is not known who did this. This incident happened on Sunday (October 20) night.
The university administration said that this work was done to destabilize the university by creating controversy. An investigation committee will be constituted today to identify those involved in this activity and take action.
According to eyewitnesses, at night, some young men wearing masks came on motorcycles and left quickly wearing this hijab.
Meanwhile, around 1:30 AM, the coordinators of the anti-discrimination movement, Mahin Sarkar and Tariqul Islam, removed the hijab or the cloth.
Later, Tariqul Islam said that the revolutionary students should be vigilant about the Awami fascist conspiracy. Fascist forces engaged in a four-pronged conspiracy to thwart the popular uprising. An attempt was made to provoke communalism by wearing black clothes in the Raju sculpture.
He also said that the black cloth was immediately removed. These are basically actions to divide the united power of revolutionary students. We cannot in any way let the people’s revolution achieved at the cost of the lives of one and a half thousand martyrs be thwarted. It is your responsibility, mine, and everyone’s to stop the plot of fascist forces. So I request everyone to be vigilant.
Dhaka University Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmad told the media that our team went there immediately after the incident. They talked to many people to find out who did this. We will form a three-member investigation committee today to find out those involved. They will talk to eyewitnesses and analyze CCTV footage to identify those involved. Action will be taken against them later.
Saifuddin Ahmad also said, I think a group is doing these things to destabilize the university by creating controversy. Their plan will not succeed.
