5 killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Faridpur

The Crime Desk: Five people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Faridpur. Apart from this, at least 15 people were injured. The accident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway near Karimpur Jora Setu at Mallikpur in Faridpur Sadar around 4 am on Tuesday (October 15).

The injured are being treated at Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital. Attempts are being made to identify the names of all the victims.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Faridpur Fire Service Station Manager Subhash Chandra Barai said that the accident took place when a Green Express bus from Dhaka to Jhenaidah collided head-on with another bus from Satkhira to Amtali.

Karimpur Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury said that all the victims are over 18 years old. He said that efforts are being made to identify the names of all the victims. The two buses involved in the accident were recovered and brought to the Karimpur Highway Police Station.
