The Crime Desk: On the occasion of the upcoming Autumn Durga Puja, eight instructions have been issued, including the formation of a monitoring committee including the dignitaries from different levels of society and the students to ensure the security of the pujamandap along with the Hindus.
Senior Assistant Secretary of the Political-2 Branch of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday yesterday. These instructions were issued through an office memorandum signed by Zahirul Haque.
According to the instructions, these instructions have been issued for the field administration and the law and order forces according to the decision of the second meeting of the Law and Order Advisory Council Committee held on October 1 under the chairmanship of the Home Affairs Adviser. The instructions are: 1. Visible patrolling and intelligence surveillance by police, RAB, and Ansar and VDP should be intensified to control the law and order situation on the occasion of autumn Durga Puja celebrations. Members of the armed forces deployed in the field to maintain law and order will also provide necessary assistance.
2. Advance preparations should be made to prevent any untoward incident. As soon as an unexpected incident occurs, effective action should be taken with all concerned. 3. On the occasion of autumn Durga Puja celebrations, local administration and law and order forces should visit the pujamandaps. 4. Care must be taken to spread any offensive or religious sentiments or rumors through social media. 5. The concerned Puja Celebration Committees shall depute the required number of volunteers and watchmen (minimum 03 during the day and 04 during the night) for round-the-clock guarding of the Puja Mandaps.
6. Arrangements should be made to install full-time CCTV cameras in every worship hall. 7. On the occasion of the autumn Durga Puja celebration, a sufficient number of police force members, BGB, Ansar, VDP, RAB, and other forces should be ensured. 8. On the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja, a monitoring committee should be formed, including the dignitaries and students from different levels of society, to ensure the safety of the worship hall along with the Hindus. District administrators at the district level and upazila executive officers at the upazila level will form such committees.
