Another accused in the army officer Tanjim murder case arrested

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: One of the accused in the case of private murder of martyred Lieutenant Tanzim Charoar in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. Sadek (41) was arrested by the joint forces.

On Friday (September 27), the matter was confirmed by Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous, Director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB Headquarters.

Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous said the incident of seclusion of army officer Lt. Tanzim Charoar created a great sensation in the country. RAB started the operation with the aim of arresting the killers along with shadow investigation after the murder. The army complained about the incident and filed a case at Chakaria police station.

He said, in continuation of this, the joint forces, under the leadership of a smart raiding team of the RAB-15 Sadar Battalion, conducted an operation in Phansiakhali of the Chakaria police station. Sadek was able to be arrested.

He was arrested on Thursday (September 26) around 2:30 p.m. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted his involvement in Sadek’s murder and was handed over to the Chakaria police station.

Earlier on September 25, the Bangladesh Army conducted a combing operation in Cox’s Bazar and arrested six people involved in the incident. They are Babul Prakash (44), Helal Uddin (34), Anwar Hakim (28), Arif Ullah (25), Ziabul Karim (45), and Hossain (39).

Among them, Helal Uddin, second-in-command of the robbers, driver Anwar Hakim, armed member Arif Ullah, and informants Ziabul Karim and Hussain have admitted their direct involvement in the incident.
