City Reporter: The university administration has instructed the students of Chittagong University (CHB) all residential halls and Shilpi Rashid Chowdhury hostel to remove their belongings within the next four days. This order was given in a circular signed by Chabir Registrar (Acting) KM Noor Ahmad on Wednesday.
According to the notification, the students in the halls are instructed to carry all their belongings from the room allotted to their name or from the room last occupied. From Thursday (today) to Sunday every day (including Friday and Saturday) can be taken from 10 am to 5 pm.
It is also said that to collect the items, the ID card (identity card) provided by the Chittagong University, the seat allotment letter, or the money deposit receipt must be shown. Besides, the list of things taken under your supervision is to be submitted to the administration. Hall authorities will not be responsible for any student’s failure to collect their belongings within the specified date or for any loss or damage. The notification also mentions that no one’s belongings will be handed over to any representative. This was confirmed by Registrar (Acting) KM Noor Ahmad.
It is known that Chittagong University administration could not allocate seats in Chabir Hall for the last 7 years. Even though the initiative to allocate seats was taken many times, it was not possible due to the compartmental problems of the Chhatra League. After the fall of the government on August 5, the new administration took charge of the university.
