Nagar Reporter: A person has filed a case against nine people, including former Member of Parliament of Raujan ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, his son Faraz Karim Chowdhury, and Farhan Karim Chowdhury, on charges of beating, attempted murder, and later taking the land registry at gunpoint in Raujan.

Yesterday, the person named Islam Mia filed the case under various sections of the Penal Code in Chittagong Judicial Magistrate Court. He is the son of deceased Ramzan Ali of East Rawzan Rashidar Para area. Plaintiff’s lawyer, Mejbah ul Alam, said that the court accepted the case and ordered the OC of Raujan police station to investigate.

It is stated in the RG of the case that the plaintiff was detained for three days at the farm house of Fazle Karim Chowdhury adjacent to Raujan Forest Beat on April 8, 2019 for the purpose of illegal possession of property. The property registry was pressed at gunpoint. The passport of the expatriate Abul Kashem, the brother of the plaintiff, was confiscated. Disobedience is met with beatings and attempted murder.

They also threatened to kill and disappear the body if the land registry is not given. Following this, on July 12, 2019, the plaintiff and his brother Abul Kashem were taken to the Raujan sub-registry office at gunpoint, and the land was registered by force. It is also mentioned in the RG that the plaintiff and his brother were threatened to be killed if they told anyone about this or took any legal action.
