Chandnaish Correspondent: Hill terrorists extorted ransom after abducting 4 farmers from the Kanchannagar area of Chandnaish. An armed hill terrorist group of 15 abducted them last Friday morning when they were going to fetch guavas from a guava orchard in the Kanchannagar hilly area. Later, they were released in the evening by paying the ransom as demanded by the terrorists.
The kidnapped 4 farmers are Ismail (56) of Kanchannagar Kazi Bari area of Uttara, Ali Manchur (46) of Nagarpara of Jora Union, Ershad (35) of Mohammadpur area, and Rohingya citizen Ibrahim (35). Lately, there has been an increase in the movement of terrorists in the hilly areas of Chandnaish, and several recent abductions have created panic among farmers living around the hills and fetching guavas and lemons from their orchards.
However, after the kidnapping of 4 farmers, no one filed a complaint at the police station regarding the ransom demand, Imran Al Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Chandnaish police station, told reporters.
