The Crime Desk: Police constable Riazur Rashid, alias Nayan (27) was working at Bhasanchar police station in Noakhali. While working, he developed a romantic relationship with a girl from Bhasanchar Rohingya camp. Both of them have been missing for the past seven days. Locals claim that they have fled.
The escaped teenager is a resident of Bhasanchar Rohingya camp. The girl was under treatment in the Rohingya unit of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. He has not been found since last Thursday (September 12) at 3 pm.
According to multiple sources, police constable Riazur Rashid and a girl from Bhasanchar Rohingya camp had a love relationship. For many days, their love affair has been going on on the mobile phone. Allegedly, Constable Nayan used to indulge in illicit relations with women while on duty in Bhasanchar and consumed alcohol and ganja. A month ago, Nayan was closed from Bhasanchar police station and attached to Noakhali police line. Nayan has not been available on the Noakhali police line roll call since last Thursday.
Noakhali District Civil Surgeon Dr. Masum Iftekhar said, I was informed by the hospital that a Rohingya girl escaped from the Rohingya unit of Noakhali General Hospital. Our job is to treat. It is the responsibility of the police to find him. The matter has been reported to the police by the district health department.
Noakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Asaduzzaman said, I have heard the matter. However, no one complained about the missing Rohingya girl from her family. But it is true that the policemen are absent. He was brought from Bhasanchar police station for indiscipline and neglect of duty.
