Rajshahi Correspondent: A farmer’s league leader filed a written complaint (case application) against Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) Constituency Member of Parliament and District Awami League Joint General Secretary Ayen Uddin at Mohanpur Police Station. Apart from the MP, 15 people including his sister-in-law and Upazila Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Advocate Abdus Salam have been accused in the complaint lodged at Mohanpur police station.
On Saturday (November 27) night, former UP member of Ghasigram Union of Mohanpur Upazila and the women’s association of Upazila Krishak League, Mosa. Sheikh Habiba (30) filed this complaint at the police station.
Mohanpur police station OC Salim Badsha confirmed the receipt of the written complaint and said that a woman named Sheikh Habiba has given a written complaint to the police station. Complaints will be investigated and action will be taken.
The other accused in the complaint (case application) are Mohanpur Upazila Jubo League vice-president and MP’s cousin Ekramul Haque Vijay, Upazila Mahila Awami League president Dolly Akhter, Ghasigram Union Mahila Awami League president Dolly Begum, MP’s car driver Sajjad Hossain, Upazila Sechsevak League Preparatory Committee Conference. Convener Humayun Kabir, Jewel Rana. The rest have been charged as unknown.
In this regard, MP Ayan Uddin said, “That woman is conspiring against me under the influence of some people. As part of this, I and my family members and leaders have been charged. On November 24, I filed a GD (general diary) against the woman at Mohanpur police station, alleging various kinds of misinformation against me.
Sheikh Habiba mentioned in the complaint, I published the various irregularities of MP Ayen Uddin in the media. As a result of this, on November 23 at noon, the accused surrounded me in the Mohanpur upazila area with the premeditated intention of killing me due to previous enmity due to political reasons. At that time they started abusing and ordered MP Ayan Uddin and accused Abdus Salam to be beaten and said to kill (undisclosed) and end their lives. On receiving their orders, accused Ekramul Haque Vijay hit me on the head with an iron hammer in his hand with the intention of killing me. When I fell on the ground, Dolly Begum climbed on my chest and tried to kill me by strangling me with her veil. Besides, the accused Ekramul Haque Vijay molested me. Dolly Begum stole 20 thousand taka from me and Dolly Akhter stole my mobile phone and a gold chain from my neck. Others including the unidentified accused physically abused me.
MP Ayen Uddin also said that there was an upazila coordination meeting that day. I attend that meeting. During the meeting, women’s league leader Dolly Begum had an argument with the woman. At one point the woman attacked Dolly Begum and killed and injured her. At this time, Ekramul and others went to release them. At that time, the woman bit and injured Ekramul. Dolly Begum filed a case against him at the police station. He filed a case against us to save himself from that case.
