Entertainment Desk: The people of Kolkata are outraged by the murder of a woman doctor of RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. In the meantime, there is an uproar in the Malayalam film industry based on the report of the Hema Committee. Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty of Indian Bengali cinema opened her mouth about the bitter experience that happened to her in this situation.
In this conversation, it was asked that you have been working since a very young age. How were the days of insecurity? In response, Ritabhari Chakraborty said, “I said it with great sadness; I myself did not want to believe it for many years. I want to see the good. The worst experience happened early in the career. That is, after the series ‘Ogo Badhu Sundari’. When I was twenty-one years old. When I’m not established, just a familiar face. Such a familiar face is the most dangerous. Everyone started targeting him. It seems to have become the norm that you have to compromise to get a job.”
Recounting her bitter experience, Ritabhari says, “Not everyone offers to go straight to bed. A big actor offered me through a person to be intimate with him, and I turned it down. I expressed my anger to a senior journalist about that. The journalist told me, ‘If you miss such a great opportunity! If you want to stay in the industry, you have to accept this. A man like that wants to get you!’I didn’t expect this from such an educated person. I said, I can’t do this. He said, ‘Then you write poetry; you don’t act.’ It was very disappointing to me.”
Ritabhari made her television debut through the serial ‘Ogo Badhu Sundari’. In 2011, he entered the big screen with the movie ‘Tomar Sath Praner Khel’. However, the film was not released. His first movie, ‘Tabu Basant’ was released in 2012. Notable films in which Ritabhari acted are ‘Chatushkon’, ‘Barood’, ‘Pari’, ‘Shih Se Shru’ etc.
