Kurigram Representative: Manik Rahman. No hands since birth. Although it has two legs, one is long and the other is short. Physically challenged student Manik Rahman got golden GPA-5 in SSC by writing like other healthy and normal students due to indomitable will power. The indomitable genius Manik Rahman appeared in the SSC examination this year from Jachimiya Model Government High School, Phulbari.
On Monday (November 28) at noon, Manik took his laptop and took out the exam results. After the exam results were announced, everyone was shocked to hear the news of Manik getting Golden GPA-5.
Physically challenged Manik Rahman is the son of drug dealer Mizanur Rahman and mother lecturer Maryam Begum in Chandrakhana village of Sadar Union of Fulbari Upazila of Kurigram. Capitalizing on her confidence and spirit with the encouragement of her parents and teachers, she got a scholarship in Talentpool with a GPA-5 in PEC examination and a Golden GPA-5 in JMC as well. Not only does he get good results by writing with his feet, he is also adept at operating a mobile phone with his feet and using computer typing and internet. Therefore, Manik Rahman wishes to fulfill his parents’ dream of becoming a computer engineer in the future. The eldest son of the parents is Manik Rahman. Manik, a fighting soldier, never fell behind in his studies even though he had no hands.
Manik’s father Mizanur Rahman and mother Maryam Begum said, I have two sons. Manik is big. Younger son Mahim is in 6th standard. We do not think that the elder son Manik is disabled. Although he did not have two hands from birth, we have taught him to write with his feet since childhood. Manik scored better in PSC and JSC than many healthy and normal boys and girls in the society. It is our pride. Everyone please pray for my son so that he can live healthy and beautiful. He can achieve his dreams by scoring well in HSC examination.
Manik Rahman said, I have got golden GPA-5 in SSC exam by Allah’s grace even though I don’t have two hands. I got golden A-plus in JSC exam earlier. He also said, I can get admission in engineering university by getting good results in HSC exam and fulfill my parents’ dream by becoming a computer engineer in future.
Abed Ali Khandkar, head teacher of Jachimiya Model Government High School, Phulbari, said that despite being physically challenged, Manik Rahman has achieved better results than other students.
