Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called on world leaders to stop the Russia-Ukraine war. He said this at the International Women Peace and Security (WPS) Seminar-2022 on Monday (November 28) morning.
The Prime Minister said that any conflict can be resolved through dialogue and political discussion. We don’t want any war. We do not want any people to become refugees. Because I have all the experience. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister recalled the experience of the loss of the liberation war in 1971.
He said that the women members of Bangladesh are playing an important role in the world peacekeeping mission managed by the United Nations. We are proud of the important role women play.
The Prime Minister said that the special role of women in peacekeeping missions is shining the light of Bangladesh all over the world.
He said that due to the greater participation of women in socio-economic and political activities, gender equality in the country has improved in all areas. Bangladesh ranks at the top in terms of gender equality among South Asian countries.
