The Crime Desk: Chittagong Hill Tracts Adviser Supradeep Chakma said that extortion will be stopped to protect the peace and order of the Chittagong Hill Tracts as well as to protect the order of the entire country. Adviser Supradeep Chakma said that extortion, including the activities of terrorists in the hills, will be stopped so that no one can make the lives of common people miserable through injustice, torture, and extortion.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Adviser Supadrip Chakma made this comment in the chief guest’s speech at an exchange meeting with officials of Bandarban district in the meeting room of Bandarban Circuit House on Monday.
Adviser Supradeep Chakma also said that the current interim government is working by maintaining neutrality in every field. The hill district council will be constituted as per the outline of the interim government. We cannot increase or decrease the number of members as we wish. However, it would be better to have two student representatives associated with the anti-discrimination student movement among the members. He said that chairman and members will be appointed in three hill district councils, including Bandarban hill district council, very soon. They will work for the welfare of the area.
Adviser Supradeep Chakma said that the Kuki Chin National Front (KNF) arrested ordinary bombers on suspicion of releasing them and will be investigated to see if there are any legal complications regarding their release.
Hill advisor Supradeep Chakma said that the education system in the hills is far behind that of the plains. Due to which the boys and girls of this region cannot survive the competitive examination. Therefore, we will work to alleviate poverty in the hilly areas and improve the standard of living of the people as well as quality education and protection and development of the environment in this area. We want to play an appropriate role in maintaining peace and order in the area. We will make Bangladesh a happy, prosperous country. Moreover, Bandarban Hill district is known as a tourist city all over the country. Therefore, work will be done to develop the tourism industry in coordination with law and order forces.
Under the chairmanship of Bandarban District Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin, Joint Secretary of Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Ministry Kangkan Chakma, Bandarban District Police Superintendent Saikat Shaheen, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Umme Habiba Meera, and Chief Executive Officer of Hill District Council Md. Senior officials of various departments, including Masum Billah, were present.
After that, advisor Supradeep Chakma will interact with the civil society of Bandarban district, the anti-discrimination student organization, and various groups and organizations.
