The Crime Desk: While rescuing the two coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, who were blocked in the capital’s secretariat, there was an incident of stone-throwing by the students with the protesting Ansar.
On Sunday (August 25) around 9 pm, when the students reached in front of the secretariat to rescue the two coordinators, bricks were thrown at them. It is also known that several students were injured in this incident.
Earlier, coordinator Hasnat Abdullah complained that Ansar members were blocked in the secretariat. In a Facebook post he wrote, everyone comes to Raju. Autocracy wants to come back as Ansar. All of us have been detained in the secretariat despite the demands being accepted.
Apart from this, he said in a Facebook comment, ‘Enamul Haque Shamim, former MP of Shariatpur Constituency, is doing this. His elder brother was the DG of this Ansar. And all these Ansars are recruited by his brother.’
The members of the Ansar delegation sitting in discussion with the adviser on various demands said, “We are announcing the suspension of the movement, taking into account the assurance of fulfilling our demands and the overall situation of the country.”
At that time, the Home Affairs Adviser said, We have reached a decision after discussing with the three advisers and other colleagues that from now on there will be no’rest system’ in Ansar. At the same time, a committee will be made on other demands. This committee will review everything and send a report to us. We will take a decision based on that report.
In response to a question about the’rest system’ in Ansar, he said that after every three years of service, Ansar members have to take six months of rest. After this six months, they joined again. These six months they have to live a very inhumane life. The process is being worked on on how to regularize their jobs by canceling this practice from the recruitment rules. They will make a recommendation within the next seven days with four representatives from among ordinary Ansars.
At that time, information adviser Nahid Islam said, since a committee has been formed, a decision will be taken after trial and analysis. We have a national crisis going on. We have a lot of work to do. Even during this time of crisis, this recommendation committee will judge and analyze everything and decide. We will discuss the problems of the Ansar brothers and arrive at a logical solution.
