The Crime Desk: Starting from Mirsarai in Chittagong, a severe traffic jam has been created on the 50 km long Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Thousands of passengers from far and wide are suffering due to this.

Going to the ground, it can be seen that thousands of vehicles are stuck from Mirsarai Sadar to Lalpol in Feni on the west side of the Dhaka-bound lane in the Mirsarai section of the highway. Sometimes the car moves at a slow speed, but sometimes it stops for hours. This is how it has been going since Saturday morning.

Faridul Islam, a passenger of Saudia Paribahan who was stuck in a jam in Mirsrai area on Saturday (August 24), said that he left Chittagong at 9 a.m. The car is standing in Mirsarai till noon. Thus, hundreds of covered vans, cargo trucks, trucks, oil tankers, passenger buses, microbuses, and thousands of vehicles are stopped due to the jam.

Talking to the drivers, it is known that heavy traffic has been created on one side up to Feni-Comilla Chouddagram and on the other side up to Naiduar (Charakul) area of Feni Mirsarai. It stopped the traffic. Also, several parts of the road were seen submerged in water till Saturday afternoon.

Covered van driver Jasim Uddin said, I left for Dhaka with goods from Chittagong port at 8 am. I am stuck near Feni until 2 o’clock. I don’t know when I can go.

Mirsarai Zorarganj Highway Police OC Sohel Sarkar said that the road has submerged in many places due to sudden flood water. The car cannot move. We are trying to resolve. If the water recedes, the heavy traffic situation will return to normal.
