Rangamati Correspondent: Due to continuous heavy rains, the Rangamati-Chittagong national highway was blocked by a landslide. Later, members of the Rangamati Road Department and Fire Service removed the soil from the road and normalized the traffic after 1 hour.
Sabuj Chakma, executive engineer of the Rangamati Division of Roads and Public Ways (SOAZ), confirmed the incident of a landslide in the Ghagra Kalabagan area of the Rangamati-Chittagong National Highway on Thursday morning (August 22).
On the other hand, the Rangamati-Khagrachari regional road is submerged in water, and the traffic is closed. On Thursday morning, all kinds of traffic with Rangamati was stopped due to waterlogging in the Kutukchari area of the Rangamati-Khagrachari regional road.
Sabuj Chakma, executive engineer of Sauz Rangamati division, said that the landslide occurred in the Kalabagan area of the Rangamati-Chittagong highway on Thursday morning. However, the people of our road department went and removed the soil from the road and normalized the traffic after an hour. On the other hand, the Rangamati-Khagrachari regional road has been submerged in water, and the traffic of Rangamati and Khagrachari districts has been closed since morning.
Another landslide in Baghaichari
Meanwhile, another landslide occurred on Marishya-Bagaihat road in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati. Due to this, the traffic is stopped. On Thursday morning, the traffic was stopped due to a landslide in the area of Marishya-Bagaihat road in Baghaichhari.
Confirming the matter, Maksudur Rahman, Executive Engineer of Roads and Public Ways (Soaz) Khagrachari Division, said that a little while ago, traffic was stopped due to a landslide in the area called Training Hill on the Marishya road in Baghaichari. The road department people are on their way to remove the soil from the road. It may take a few hours.
