Lohagara Correspondent: In Lohagara, news of the death of a wild elephant has been received after falling into a water hole in Lambashia Gehin hilly area of Chunti Union. Locals believe that the wild elephant died in the early hours of Sunday, November 27. In the morning, people saw the wild elephant floating in the water and informed the people of the forest department. It is believed that the wild elephant fell into the hole while drinking water and got stuck in the mud. The elephant is said to be at least two years old.
According to another source, the elephant fell into the waterhole while fighting with another elephant. As a result, the elephant got stuck in the mud and lost its life. Local people said that 10/12 wild elephants are staying around the incident site since yesterday morning. Associated Bonbit sources said steps have been taken to rescue the elephant and send it for post-mortem. The cause of death of this elephant will be known after receiving the post-mortem report.
