Time TV broadcasts are ordered to stop for one week

The Crime Desk: The High Court has ordered the closure of private television channels for seven days. On Monday (August 19), Justice Naima Haider and Justice Shashank Shekhar Sarkar’s High Court bench gave this order following a writ petition filed by Shampa Rahman claiming that the director of the institution.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim and Advocate Farzana Khan Nila heard on behalf of the writ in the court.The lawyer for the petitioner, Ahsanul Karim, confirmed this information.

An application was filed in the court on August 14, challenging the validity of the removal of Ahmed Zobair from the post of MD and CEO of Time TV. Senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim represented City Group in the court. Senior lawyer AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon appeared for Ahmed Zobair.

Earlier on August 10, Ahmed Zobair was dismissed from the position of managing director and chief executive of the television. The matter was informed in a press release that day.

According to the notification, the meeting of the Board of Directors of Time Media Limited was held at the City House of Gulshan on Saturday. According to the decision of the board of directors in the meeting, Ahmed Zobair was relieved from the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Time Television.

Later on last Wednesday (August 14) morning, Ahmed Jobair filed an application in the relevant branch of the High Court challenging the validity of the removal of Ahmed Jobair from the post of MD and CEO of Time TV. A single High Court bench headed by Justice Khizir Hayat heard the petition.
