Sirajganj Correspondent: Protesters attacked Enayetpur police station in Sirajganj, killing 13 policemen and killing two students. The police station was vandalized.
Initially, the identity of the slain policemen was not available. However, it is believed that SI and OCO may be among the dead of the police station.
No statement was received from the police in this regard. However, sources said that army personnel are being sent to the spot. Details will be known on inquiry.
Earlier on Sunday morning, protesting students, including students of Khamargram Degree College and Khaja Yunus Ali University, marched in various streets of Enayetpur. Police tried to disperse the protesters by firing tear gas and rubber bullets.
At one point, the agitators entered the police station and started arson and vandalism. 13 policemen were beaten to death. Two protesters died of rubber bullet injuries while undergoing treatment at Khawaja Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital.
