City Reporter: Protesting students attacked and vandalized Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury’s residence in Chittagong. Chittagong Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz confirmed this.
On Saturday (August 3) at around 6 pm, an anti-discrimination student movement march attacked the Education Minister’s residence (former mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury’s residence) at Gate No. 2 of the city.
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is the son of former mayor of Chittagong, ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
Education Minister’s personal officer Rahul Das said, “Prohibited Jamaat-Shibir and BNP terrorists carried out a sneak attack on the minister’s residence. They entered the residence and vandalized two cars and set them on fire. Besides, the main gate of the house was broken. One of the vandalized cars was used by the minister when he came to Chittagong.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz confirmed the matter and said, “We have heard about the attack on the house of the Education Minister.”
