Patia Correspondent: Jubo League and Chhatra League activists vandalized the office of BNP after half an hour of anti-quota protests from Patia Government College.

The incident took place on Thursday (July 18) around 11:30 a.m. in the Patia Government College Gate area of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway.

Eyewitnesses said that an anti-quota protest march came out of Patia Government College around 11 a.m. Hundreds of anti-quota students marched out of the college, chanting slogans.

At this time, after the peaceful march, they again went to the college campus and ended the march.

After half an hour, 30/40 Jubo League and Chhatra League activists came and vandalized the BNP office. At that time, the attackers broke the door of the BNP office, broke the chairs and tables, and threw them out.

In this incident, the former member secretary of Upazila BNP, Md. Khorshed Alam, said that the BNP office was ambushed and vandalized under the leadership of Jubo League leader Zamir Uddin. I strongly condemn and protest this incident.

I tried to talk to Jubo League leader DM Zamir Uddin on the phone, but his phone was switched off.

When asked, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patia police station, Md. Jasim Uddin, said that 50/60 students took part in a peaceful procession with anti-quota slogans. The police went on to receive the information, but no one was found. I don’t know who attacked the BNP office.
