Arsa member arrested with rifle

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: APBN has arrested a member of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) who returned from Myanmar to the Rohingya camp of Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar. At that time, two rifles with 50 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him.

The arrested person has been handed over to the Ukhia police station. The arrested person is Mohammad Ilyas (26), son of deceased Hasan Ahmed, a resident of the A-15 sub-block of Rohingya Camp No. 11, Ukhiya.

14 This information was given in a press release sent by APBN. He was arrested on Saturday (July 13) around 1:15 a.m. from the bamboo bridge adjacent to the tea shop of Sub Majhi Noor Alam of Block M-35 of Rohingya Camp No. 20.

The captain of the 14-armed police battalion engaged in maintaining law and order in the Rohingya camp (Additional DIG). Iqbal said that recently, an Arsa terrorist returned from the Myanmar civil war and was arrested with two rifles and 50 rounds of ammunition. He was handed over to the police station along with the weapons.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, Shamim Hossain, said that a case will be filed against him under the Arms Act.
