Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: There was a shooting incident between Arsa and RSO late at night in the Rohingya camp in Ukhia. At this time, a night watchman named Salim was killed. Apart from this, two other night watchmen were seriously injured due to gunshots. The incident took place at Block E/3 of Hakimpara 14 Camp No. 14 of Palongkhali Union at around 2.30 a.m. yesterday.
The deceased Salim is the son of Maulvi Maqbul of that camp, and the two seriously injured are Md. of the same camp. Alam’s son. Sabi Ullah is the son of Yunus and Arif Ullah.
The matter was confirmed by the captain of the 8th Armed Police Battalion (Additional DIG). Aamir Zafar. He said that there was a shooting incident between Arsa and RSO late at night in the Balur Mat area of E/3 Block of Rohingya Camp 14. Later, APBN and police went and brought the situation under control. At this time, the body of a night watchman was recovered from the scene. Apart from this, two more night watchmen were rescued and treated in the hospital with serious injuries.
