Bogra Correspondent: Four convicts who were sentenced to death escaped from the Bogra District Jail late last night through a roof leak. They were detained from the vicinity of the jail in the morning until the last news.
Bogra district administrator Saiful Islam confirmed the arrest in the media.
The escaped accused are Nazrul Islam (68) of Kurigram and Md. Narsingdi. Amir Hamza (41), Bogra. Zakaria (34), and Md. Farid Sheikh (30).
Bogra District Superintendent of Police Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty has called a press briefing to give details.
He said that the prison police learned about the matter when four prisoners who were sentenced to death broke the roof of the district jail and tried to escape by climbing over the wall. They were then arrested and taken into the custody of the Intelligence Branch (DB).
