A royal welcome to Sheikh Hasina at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi

The Crime Desk: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a warm welcome to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina was given a red carpet reception and a guard of honor at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi.

On Saturday (June 22) morning, the Prime Minister was given a formal reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi’s forecourt. The Prime Minister of India welcomed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina when she reached Rashtrapati Bhavan at 9 a.m..

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s motorcade was escorted by a well-armed cavalcade from the Rashtrapati Bhavan gate to the forecourt. He was then given a red carpet reception and a guard of honor. At this time, the national anthems of Bangladesh and India were performed. After receiving the armed salute, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inspected the guard of honor.

Later, the Prime Minister of India introduced the Cabinet members, senior officials, and dignitaries in the line of presentation.

After the program at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to Rajghat to pay her respects to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian nation. There, he will lay a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi’s mausoleum. Later, he will visit Hyderabad House. There, he will have a private and bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of India.

After the meeting, several MoUs and agreements are expected to be signed between Bangladesh and India in the presence of the two prime ministers. The two prime ministers will then issue a joint press statement. Later, Sheikh Hasina will attend a lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of India in her honor at Hyderabad House.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in the afternoon. After that, he will again go to Rashtrapati Bhavan in India. There, he will have a private meeting with the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for Dhaka on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 6 p.m. New Delhi time. He will reach Dhaka at 9 p.m. Bangladesh time.
