The Crime Desk: State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief. Mohibbur Rahman said Cyclone Remal has caused a loss of Tk 7,000 crore across the country. This account of the total damage will be handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.

He gave the information in the ‘Government Preparedness for Disasters’-BSRF Dialogue’ organized by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the media center of the Secretariat on Wednesday (June 12).

President Fasih Uddin Mahtab presided over the BSRF general secretary, Masudul Haque.

The state minister said that an inter-ministerial meeting was held yesterday to assess the overall damage. This is the first initiative I have taken to collect all the losses from the cyclone and give them to the Prime Minister. I will fully prepare the damage done to all the ministries of the country by today and give it to the Prime Minister tomorrow.

He said I have about 90 percent of the account. I will get the rest today. I will give an account of the damage to the Prime Minister so that he can implement it properly.

He also said that this time, the dam has suffered the most damage. Coastal fisheries have also suffered huge losses. Fish cages worth billions of rupees have been destroyed. In the cyclone, many embankments were destroyed, roads were destroyed, and houses were destroyed.
