City Reporter: District Commissioner (DC) Abul Basar inaugurated the Chittagong section of the ‘Bangabandhu Mobile Library’ at the circuit house premises of the city. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT), Md. Sadi ur Rahim Hadid, along with the executive magistrates of the district administration, were present on the occasion. Incidentally, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the BRTC library bus on November 14 last year. It is named ‘Bangabandhu Mobile Library’.
The Chittagong District Commissioner said that along with passenger transport, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched a mobile library. Students and common passengers will get the opportunity to read books from this state transport company. A variety of books are available in the fully air-conditioned mobile library. This library has various books written on the independence war and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Apart from this, books on various development activities of the Roads and Highways Department will also be available. The ‘Bangabandhu Traveling Library’ has been inaugurated to present Bangabandhu’s principles, ideals, life history, and political philosophy to the nation, including the new generation of students. By inaugurating the bus, Bangabandhu’s popularity will increase across the country.
He said that books, articles, novels, and speeches written by Bangabandhu and related to Bangabandhu have been preserved in this library. Through these, the reader will learn about Bangabandhu’s philosophy, ideology, sacrifice, and struggle.
