The Crime Desk: The High Court has ordered a list of how many Rohingyas have been made voters across the country. The High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zeenat Haque passed the order on Tuesday (June 11) after hearing a supplementary application in this regard.
The Election Commission, Local Government Secretary, DC of Cox’s Bazar have been instructed in the order to submit this list by August 8.
Earlier on Monday (June 10), a writ was issued asking for instructions to submit the list after investigating how many Rohingyas have been voted across the country.
The High Court wants a list of how many Rohingyas have been voted in the entire Cox’s Bazar in view of a writ filed by Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Siddique Ullah Mia on April 24. The DC of Cox’s Bazar and those concerned are asked to submit this list to the court. At the same time, the court ordered the exclusion of 38 Rohingyas from the voter list of the Eidgaon Union in Cox’s Bazar. Following this, the supplementary application was made on June 10.
