Dhaka Bureau: Bangladesh and India want to take custody of Siam, who was arrested in Nepal and is the accomplice of Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, the mastermind behind the murder of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anna. West Bengal CID wants to get the accused, Siam, as Anna was murdered in Kolkata and a case has been filed in Kolkata.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Police is also trying to get this accused in the case filed against Annar, who is a Bangladeshi citizen and MP Annar in Bangladesh’s Sherebangla Nagar police station. Discussions are going on between the police of the two countries to get this accused arrested in Nepal. Two teams from Bangladesh and India are already staying in Nepal. However, if the police of both countries reach a decision in this regard, Nepal Police said that the accused will be handed over to Siam according to the rules. An officer involved in the investigation of Anna’s murder confirmed this.

Meanwhile, the skull and bones of the slain MP Anar have not yet been recovered. After a relentless search for several days, the body parts were recovered from the septic tank of Sanjiba Gardens, but a forensic report is awaited to confirm whether they are Anar’s or not. Besides, the accused gave information about throwing the skulls and bones into the Bagjola canal, but they were not found after repeated searches in the dirty water there. In such a situation, the West Bengal CID has started the rescue process with the help of the Navy and Coast Guard. However, some members of the family, including Anar’s daughter Doreen, were supposed to go to Kolkata for the DNA test of the meat lump recovered from the septic tank, but it was not possible as Doreen did not have a visa. He said that although Doreen’s visa is on Sunday, it is not certain to go to India now.

A member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Intelligence Police stationed in Nepal said Siam is also wanted by Calcutta CID. This is being discussed. However, it is not known whether the Nepal Police will hand over Siam to the Bangladesh team or to the Indian team. In this case, the Nepal Police will work according to the provisions of the law.
